Update on Joe Somerlott & The Somerlott Project Reminder

Brothers:

As most of you know Joe had surgery on Tuesday.  They found that the mass in his heart wasn’t just in the left ventricle, it’s in both atrium’s and can’t be removed.  There isn’t much more the doctor will be able to do for him.  He will be release from the hospital as soon as he heals from the surgery.  They are discussing hospices care for him now.  The doctors aren’t sure how much longer he will last but they should have a better idea when the biopsy results come back.

Keep Joe and Lindsey in your prayers!!!

11/24/11 Update on Joe Somerlott

An update on Joe’s Condition from Worshipful
I visited Joe at Baylor Heart Hospital yesterday.  He is one tough hombre; it turns out he had 2 liters, yes two liters!  [think giant soda bottle!] of fluid around his heart….and per his mother-in-law, his only complaint was he was “a little short of breath.”  After shortness of breath the next day, she insisted they go to the hospital, where the fluid was drained.  Today Joes’ specialists huddle and will let him know what his treatment options are; he did say that they have told him that chemo and radiation are not an option. He has a tumor in his left ventricle, so needless to say, this is very serious.  I asked Joe to have Tom F. or Lindsay let us know what the doctors advise; also to let us know if there is ANYTHING we can do for Lindsay.  Joe is in room 611.  I think visitors really wear him out, so I only stayed a few minutes.  I put my hand on his knee, which caused his leg to spasm…so you really can’t even give him a “chug on the shoulder,” he’s very, very frail, but continues to maintain a good attitude.  I think he appreciates seeing his Lodge brothers, but I’d recommend very short visits.
thanks,

Pat

10/22/2011

Joe’s MRI results came in and they had found a mass in his heart.  They told him that there wasn’t much they could do at this point.  Removing the mass wasn’t an option. The doctors aren’t sure how much time he has left.   He’s currently at Baylor Plano in the heart wing.  Please keep praying  for Lindsay and Joe!!!

Please Keep Them In Your Prayers

Brethren

Brother John Dockins went to the hospital today with a today with temperature of 105, at this time I dont have any other information but I will post updates as there received.

Brother Joe Somerlott went into the hospital early today because he was collecting fluid around his heart causing the left side to start collapsing. The hospital is draining the fluid and trying to find the cause, test have been done and results will be in on Saturday.  He was admitted to the heart unit at  Baylor Plano.

Please keep John & Joe in your prayers!!!
